On route to Wayanad, you will be visiting Banasura dam, which is the second largest dam in Asia. The Banasura dam lies in the Banasura foothills and is built across the Karamanathodu river. The dam gets its name from ‘Banasura’, the son of Mahabali, the famous ruler of Kerala. Here, you can trek through the forests to the Banasura Peak or take a boating trip in the lake.
